Hatful Of Rain sign to our record label!

We are very happy to announce a new signing to our record label! We've been fans of Hatful Of Rain for some time and today (in a interval at their sunday afternoon show in Lewes) we all gathered round and signed the contract!

We plan to release their debut album - entitled 'Way Up On The Hill' - this May, although a firm date has yet to be set.

Recipe for success

Hatful create a sound that's strongly influenced by Bluegrass and old-time American music, but with a strong seam of British folk coursing through it. All the tracks on the album are composed by members of the band (with the exception of one traditional number), and the authenticity of the songs themselves is something that really makes Hatful Of Rain stand apart.

Couple Chloe's lead vocals (Phil and Fred sometimes take on lead duties too, to great effect) with their instrumental talents and we believe they have a recipe for success.

Hatful Of Rain have been regulars on the local Americana and roots circuit for a while now, and already have one EP to their name. The new album will be the first set of recordings they've done since recruiting fourth member James, and his incredible fiddle playing is a real asset to the sound.

A growing roster

This will be Union Music Store's third label release, following Jamie Freeman and Zoe Brownrigg before them. And there's more in the pipeline too, but for now we're just very happy to get down to work for Hatful of Rain!
